Design & Development of Interactive Experiences

This project explores whether it is possible to tell whether someone is a Trump or a Biden supporter simply by looking at their Youtube homepage. Through an interactive experience, learned how we make assumptions about someone’s political leaning and raise awareness that we are sometimes too quick to judge someone’s identity.

Current tools to explore large proteomics datasets are not ideal, and arranging the data in a way that drives insights can be a very time-consuming and tedious task for researchers in the field. In this work, we design and implement a web-based, user-friendly 3D data visualization tool that aims to facilitate the interactive exploration of immune-specific proteomics datasets with two main objectives: (1) enable researchers’ interactive exploration and understanding of large, complex immune-specific proteomics data, and (2) facilitate the communication of researchers’ findings to scientific and nonscientific communities through the tool.

In this project, we explored how colometrics can be used to provide a sense of wayfinding for people in a closed space to help diverge crowds and avoid previously heavily occupied spaces. We focused our spacial design analysis on the future of office spaces and how they can be imagined as a safe and socially distant space where employees would still feel connected to each other.

Because of the pandemic, restaurants have shifted their menus to web page versions accessible through a QR code. In order to provide a more informative, interactive, and personalized experience when ordering delivery, our tool generates an Augmented Reality (AR) visualization of menu items and allows users to create their own meals, choosing their preferred ingredients, and the quantity of such. Once the order is placed through the AR app, this will be received by the restaurant, which will utilize a movable mounted AR display to aid in the chef’s cooking process, thus boosting the restaurant’s accuracy and efficiency in producing meal orders. Our AR app has two interfaces to suit the needs of the two major stakeholders: 1) the customer and 2) the restaurant.
